StartUp presentation to Bega Valley Shire Council

After the success of last year’s presentation Bega Valley Shire Council (BVSC) asked the team from IntoIT to return with some more potential investment ideas to help local government seed the tech sector in the shire.

Liam O’Duibhir from 2pi Software led the charge, alongside speakers Dr. Matt Robards, Sam Avitaia from UoW, and Mother and Son coders, Kat and Hayden Smith.

Candice Ayles and Anna Pino from Lighthouse Innovation in Canberra, Dr. Chris Brennan-Horley and Paul Morris from the NSW Education Dept. also made a appearance via video link.

You can watch the entire presentation (in the dimly lit council chambers) here.

The accompanying slides are provided here :-

Judging by the interest from councillors with questions after the presentation, we might see local government getting behind the tech sector and perhaps giving StartUps a leg-up in the Bega Valley.

You can watch the video contribution from Candice and Anna of Lighthouse Innovation below.

Dr Chris Brennan-Horley also spoke via video link.

And Paul Morris Director NSW Public Schools Far South Coast Network on why technology is important for education and jobs for school leavers.
