The intoIT WordPress Users Group (IWUG) to kick off in August

The first intoIT WordPress Users Group meeting is planned for August 2, 2012.

The group aims to give the opportunity to learn specific skills within the WordPress CMS according to individual needs and to network with other wordpress enthusiasts.

To help us develop an agenda, that can be relevant across skill levels and interests, we would be grateful if you could take this four question survey.

intoIT WordPress Users Survey

We will use the results of the survey to plan the first meeting, and to seek people to present relevant information to the group.

Topics could range from how to manage the admin dashboard of wordpress, for basic users, to e-commerce plugin development for more advanced users and everything beyond and in between.

Thanks for your interest in the group so far. We hope that you will spread the word, and encourage other wordpress users or people who may be interested in wordpress to do the survey too!

We will keep you posted over the next month, of agendas and further information.

    Hi Sarah
I will be there in August. Let’s see where it takes us…
I am keen to learn more about WP. It evolves all the time. I discover hick-up with the system when I use it. It is not all that smooth to use at times. and would like to get a better understanding how to fix certain complex issues.

      Hi Kerstin,
Really looking forward to seeing you there! I know exactly what you mean about the hiccups that can happen when using the wordpress CMS, however, I think that a group like this, might give us contact with people more advanced than us, and allow us to work through some of these bugs and issues.
      Take care! See you tomorrow!

My programmer is trying to persuade me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the costs. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using WordPress on several websites for about a year and am nervous about switching to another platform. I have heard good things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress posts into it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
